NATIONAL FORUM FOR NURSING CENTERS

National Nursing Workforce Minimum Datasets

The Forum of State Nursing Workforce Centers is pleased to present National Nursing Workforce Minimum Datasets in the areas of nursing supply, nursing demand, and nursing education programs. These documents are intended to establish standardized data to be collected by each state as part of a larger effort to effectively quantify and address the country’s critical nursing shortage - which is expected to grow to between 340,000 and 1,000,000 Registered Nurse full-time equivalent vacancies by 2020.

The HRSA-funded Health Workforce Information Center (HWIC) Celebrates its One-Year Anniversary February 2010

The new HRSA-funded Health Workforce Information Center, www.healthworkforceinfo.org, will provide free access to the most recent resources on the nation’s health workforce in one easy-to-use online location.

“HRSA is pleased to have the University of North Dakota as a partner in creating the center,” Administrator Elizabeth M. Duke said.  “As shortages of physicians, nurses and allied health personnel worsen, information available through the center will help lawmakers, hospitals and schools develop strategies to meet future workforce demands.”
